Lingani Mbakile-Mahlanza has been working at the University of Botswana in the department of psychology as a lecturer and coordinator of the psychology clinic. In addition to her teaching role, Lingani has been conducting research in the areas of dementia, traumatic brain injury, and neuropsychological assessment.
Lingani argues that there are currently no supports and services for people with dementia in Botswana and that this contrasts with the pressing need for these supports.
Bio: Lingani Mbakile-Mahlanza received a Doctor of Clinical Neuropsychology from Monash University in Australia. After completing her training, she joined the University of Botswana as a lecturer in the psychology department and coordinator of the psychology clinic. In addition to training psychologists for her country, she has been conducting research in topics around neuropsychology in under resourced settings.
