Current Work

Vera is responsible for financial planning and reporting to the GBHI Governing Board, overseeing GBHI's grant-making efforts, as well as managing strategic partnerships and international development efforts.

Vision

Vera joined GBHI to be part of a global network working towards healthier, fairer, more inclusive societies.

Strategy

Prior to GBHI, Vera worked with various international NGOs in the areas of international development, global health, sustainable community development, micro-finance, and humanitarian aid. She has worked internationally with organizations in Nicaragua and Haiti, and in the US-based headquarters at Partners in Health and the International Rescue Committee.

Motivation

Vera utilizes her expertise in financial planning, strategic operations, and program management to ensure that GBHI is well-positioned to continue operations in the long-term, while maintaining our commitment to working with underserved and marginalized populations and our dedication to values-based leadership.

Education & Experience

Vera holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Economics Management Science and a Minor in Psychology from the University of California San Diego (UCSD), and a Master's of Science Degree in International Development Economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Vera joined GBHI in May 2016.
