Current Work

Beniam is a mental health professional, lecturer, and researcher at Arba Minch University, Ethiopia where he also leads the mental health unit. Beniam is a young and passionate leader working to advocate for brain health and dementia care.

Vision

To reduce the scale and impact of dementia, we need to address inequities in health care in terms of dementia care as well as develop more partnerships and funding to the underdeveloped parts of the world where the magnitude of dementia is rising.

Motivation

Through collaboration, science, and research on dementia in low- and middle-income countries, Beniam strides to look for locally available and affordable solutions to dementia in resource-limited settings.

Education & Experience

Beniam completed his bachelor's degree in Nursing from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia, and his Master's degree in mental health from Jimma University, Ethiopia. He is working as a lecturer and researcher at Arba Minch University and is involved in academic, research, clinical, and community service with a specific focus on brain health.
