Current Work
Bridie trained as a general nurse in London and on returning to Ireland took up a post in the Critical Care Department in Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry where she worked for 26 years. She moved to the community sector where she founded Youthlife, an organisation helping bereaved young people where she worked as Managing Director for 17 years.
Bridie cared for her mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease for eight years and later for her sister who was diagnosed with early onset dementia.
Bridie’s academic qualifications include Registered General Nurse, Dip in Supervisory Management, Dip in Counselling, Higher Dip in Integrative Counselling and Cert. in Cognitive Therapy.
