Current Work

Cyprian is an Assistant Professor of Global Health Economics at Aga Khan University. With over 50 peer-reviewed journal publications, his research focuses on the intricate economics of brain health and its implications for developing countries.

Vision

Cyprian believes we need to implement economic policy strategies throughout various life stages to prevent dementia. This lifespan approach has a multiplier effect in reducing brain ill health and dementia.

Strategy

Cyprian is currently evaluating a comprehensive multipronged policy framework designed to prevent cognitive decline and dementia in South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Impact

Cyprian aims to reform key policies that can significantly improve brain health for fetuses, children, youth, adults, and senior citizens across African countries.

Motivation

There are critical funding and policy gaps for brain health across Africa. Cyprian's work is designed to help African governments engineer progressive policies to avert dementia using a lifespan approach.

Education & Experience

Cyprian is an Assistant Professor of Global Health Economics. He worked at the World Bank, Aga Khan University, and various universities in Africa and Europe before joining the Global Brain Health Institute a fellow. He completed his PhD in Health Economics at Maastricht University.
