Jean Callanan

Jean is a strategic consultant and international advocate for dying well. During her six years as Chair of the Irish Hospice Foundation, until stepping down in May 2026, she championed the belief that every death matters and dying well should be within everyone's reach. Jean is now on the advisory board of the African Palliative Care Association. 

Drawing on 20+ years of strategic leadership in multinationals, including Unilever and Diageo, Jean brings her skills together to convene influencers and create conversations that drive change.

As a member of the GBHI advisory board, Jean is particularly interested in supporting improvements in end of life and bereavement for people with Alzheimer's disease and those who love and care for them.
