María Carmona-Iragui, MD, PhD

Education & Experience

María Carmona-Iragui completed her medical studies at the Universidad de Navarra in 2006 and conducted her residency in neurology at Clínica Universidad de Navarra between 2007 and 2011. She continued her training in behavioral neurology with a fellowship in the Memory Unit at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and the Down Medical Center of the Catalan Foundation for Down Syndrome between 2011 and 2016. During this time, she obtained her PhD degree in neuroscience from the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and a master’s degree in Research Methodology for Health Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. She is now a faculty neurologist in the Neurology Department at Sant Pau, where she combines both clinical and research activities focused on the treatment and study of neurodegenerative diseases in the general population and in people with Down syndrome.
