Muftau is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Head of Mental Health at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital. As founder of Pursue Excellence, he directs the Dragons' Den-winning Project Sakina, delivering digital mental health interventions for global pilgrims.

Strategy
Muftau is validating his dignity-centred framework for mental health and inclusive education. This active research drives the global expansion of his pioneering Global Centre of Excellence in Dignity (GCoED) and Project Sakina.
Impact
As an Atlantic Fellow, Muftau hopes to leverage the global network to scale dignity-centred models. He aims to position the Global Centre of Excellence in Dignity as a transnational leader in health equity and inclusive education.
Motivation
Nigeria faces a massive dementia crisis worsened by cultural stigma and care gaps. Muftau applies a holistic lifespan approach, addressing early-life mental health and educational risks to prevent future cognitive decline.
Education & Experience
Muftau completed his medical and psychiatric training in Nigeria, earning a Fellowship from the West African College of Physicians. He received master's degrees in Global Mental Health from King’s College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. He serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Abuja and Consultant Psychiatrist at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, and is a Research Affiliate at King's College London.
