Strategy
Susan is currently promoting and developing the five pillar approach to holistic health and wellbeing combining movement, forest bathing, connective creativity, biodiversity/rewilding, sensory feedback and innovation all in nature based settings.
Impact
As an Atlantic Fellow, Susan hopes to develop scalable and replicable “Sanctuary in a box” models to promote and improve inequities in brain health across the lifespan replicating the first live sample “The Wild Atlantic Neurodiversity Sanctuary.”
Motivation
Susan hopes to learn from various combined international expertise how best to address brain health inequities both in Ireland and abroad in a meaningful way.
Education & Experience
Susan completed her PhD in Autism and Motor Impairment. She has also completed a Masters in Teaching and Learning and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science. She originally qualified as a registered general nurse and midwife. She has worked full time in academia and previously in health care settings before establishing as a full time Consultant in Education and Training in combined and varied areas across different settings.
