Teresita is a Cognitive neurologist and Co-Director of the Memory and Neuropsychiatry Center at Hospital del Salvador, Chile. She leads clinical dementia care, training, and translational research focused on dementia and brain health equity in Latin America.

Strategy
Teresita helps build equitable dementia care in Chile and Latin America through public practice, training, real-world data, and policy implementation, strengthening diagnosis, research, and care pathways for underrepresented populations.
Impact
As an Atlantic Fellow, Teresita aims to build a translational dementia unit in Latin America, advancing equitable diagnosis, biomarker readiness, care pathways, and Lewy body dementia research for underrepresented populations.
Motivation
In Chile and Latin America, dementia prevalance is rising while timely diagnosis, biomarkers, and clinical trial remain out of reach for most. Teresita works to connnet memory clinics, research, and equity, so underrpresented populations are no longer left behind.
Education & Experience
Teresita completed her medical training at Universidad del Sinú in Colombia and her specialization in Neurology at Universidad de los Andes in Chile. She is a cognitive and behavioral neurologist and Co-Director of the Memory and Neuropsychiatry Center at Hospital del Salvador in Santiago, where she provides dementia care, trains residents, and contributes to regional brain health research.
