Current Work
Trúc is a Vietnamese neurologist and neuroscientist. Her research interests include the intersections between clinical neuroscience, neuropsychology, and neuroimaging to improve the early diagnosis and treatment for adults with cognitive impairment.

Vision
We need to bring together the conceptual knowledge and empirical evidence from academia to the clinical settings, where we can offer sensitive diagnostic tools and effective treatment strategies for people with dementia.
Strategy
Truc studies the rich heterogeneity in late-life cognition and its neural processes, using neuroimaging and cognitive assessment. Truc, along with her colleagues, generated the first set of normative data for a cognitive battery in Vietnamese adults.
Impact
As an Atlantic Fellow, Truc aims to influence policymakers to develop a nationwide dementia action plan that will allow for early detection, lower treatment cost, and raise dementia awareness in Vietnam.
Motivation
Truc seeks to bridge the gap between clinical practice, academia, and industry, by building dementia centers–a one-stop shop that provides testing, treatment, social support, and participation in clinical trials for people with dementia and families.
Education & Experience
Truc Nguyen completed her medical studies at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She then earned her Master's in Biomedical Informatics at Taipei Medical University and PhD in Neuroscience at National Taiwan University, Taiwan. Truc is part of the Vietnam Alzheimer's and Related Dementia Research Network (VAN), the local administrative body for the US NIH-R01 project "Advancing Alzheimer's family caregiving intervention and research capacity in Vietnam".
