Vision

Will believes that by raising awareness of what dementia is and who it affects—and by highlighting its political, financial, and most importantly, human cost—we can reduce its impact and shape a future where conversations about brain health are open, informed, and full of hope.

Strategy

Will is developing an advocacy accelerator for the children of a parent living with young onset dementia. It will provide tools, confidence and opportunities centred around global changemaking.

Impact

As an Atlantic Fellow, Will aims to develop the advocacy accelerator in collaboration with the global team of multidisciplinary experts. Designing with the needs and voices of young people affected by dementia at the core of the process.

Motivation

By pairing experts in science, policy and storytelling with young people who have a parent with young onset dementia, Will plans to create an environment for global youth advocacy. Changing the face and voice the world associates with dementia.

Education & Experience

Will founded a skateboard business when he was 17. He then became a digital marketing manager at a dementia research charity and supported a charity focused on peer support for young people with parents affected by young onset dementia. He is an advocate for a number of dementia charities. Will changed his career to focus on brain health after his mother was diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer's disease at 49 years old.
