Current Work
Melissa is Lecturer Registrar in Global Brain Health at Trinity College Dublin. Melissa facilitates Clinical and Lived Experience placements for the Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health. Melissa also works clinically in the Mind and Movement Clinic at St James’ Hospital under the supervision of Professor Leroi, and contributes to research in GBHI, including the EMERALD-Lewy program.

Strategy
Melissa’s work with GBHI combines clinical care, public health, research, and education to promote brain health equity.
Motivation
Reducing the burden of dementia is a global public health challenge. Through her work with GBHI and the Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health, Melissa hopes to deepen her understanding of brain health inequities and contribute to improving brain health at both local and global levels.
Education & Experience
Melissa graduated in Medicine from Trinity College Dublin in 2022. She has since worked clinically in Ireland and Australia, and is currently undertaking a Master of Public Health at University College Dublin, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education at the University of Galway. Melissa is passionate about public health, health equity and population health outcomes, and hopes to specialise in Public Health Medicine.
