Neurologist

Too many dementia patients, especially those with atypical forms, receive unspecific diagnoses. My goal is to bridge this gap by ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective management.

Current Work

Witsarut is a behavioral neurologist working in the memory clinic and early-onset dementia clinic at the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

Vision

Witsarut believes that the key to reducing the impact of dementia is to raise public awareness, ensure access to accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment, and foster collaboration between centers to help reduce disparities in brain health.

Strategy

Witsarut’s work involves raising awareness among healthcare personnel and the community that dementia is a specific medical condition, not an inevitable consequence of aging. He also contributes to drafting clinical practice guidelines for Thai physicians

Impact

Witsarut aims to achieve equitable access to quality dementia care for all Thais, ensuring that proper investigation and treatment are fully integrated into universal healthcare.

Motivation

Education & Experience

Witsarut completed his medical training at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, before specializing in neurology and behavioral neurology. He then joined the institute as a faculty member.
