A fellowship neurologist in Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology at the University of São Paulo (FMUSP) and an associate neurologist in the Cognitive and Behavioral Outpatient Clinic at São Lucas Hospital from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS).

Strategy

Cristiano is currently specializing in cognitive and behavioral neurology and participating in research and education projects.

Impact

As an Atlantic Fellow, Cristiano aims to develop public and private strategies to reduce the dementia risk factors burden. Additionally, his aim to work in research projects concerning the interface between neurology and creativity.

Motivation

Approximately 56% of dementia cases in Latin America are due to modifiable risk factors, and compared with other dementia knowledge domains, risk factors are the least well known by the Brazilian general population, caregivers and health professionals.

Education & Experience

Cristiano received his medical degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) and finished his neurology residency at São Lucas Hospital from PUCRS, Brazil. He is currently specializing in Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology at the University of São Paulo (FMUSP)
