Impact Positive Emotion

Examining emotional reactivity and mental health symptoms in older adults.
Northern America

Overview

The Impact Positive Emotion project developed and implemented a novel behavioral intervention designed to increase the experience of awe, a discrete positive emotion that turns attention outward and promotes feelings of unity with the world around us. This study examined the relationship that emotional reactivity has with mental health symptoms in older adults and determined that awe increased over time in the intervention group.
