About Us

The Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) at Trinity College Dublin is centred on advancing brain health equity through a transdisciplinary, life course approach, with lived experience embedded in everything we do.

Over the past decade, GBHI at Trinity has built a global community of leaders working across disciplines to advance brain health equity, creating impact at local, national and international levels.

Building on this success, our focus is on sustaining and strengthening our impact—reaffirming our core identity and values, growing a global network of leaders, and supporting work that improves brain health for people and communities around the world.

History

GBHI was founded in 2015 through a transformational gift from Chuck Feeney’s Atlantic Philanthropies, with founding sites at Trinity College Dublin and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Created to address the global challenge of dementia, GBHI brings together research, education and leadership to advance brain health equity through knowledge exchange, advocacy, and the development of a new generation of leaders worldwide.

The Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health program is one of seven interconnected Atlantic Fellows programs—forming a global network of leaders working together toward a more equitable world.
