Vision

Didem believes that we need a passion to work internationally to decode the mystery of aging. She hopes to develop knowledge in her home region about dementia by staying up to date and translating research evidence into effective policy and practice.

Strategy

Didem is working on early diagnosis of dementia and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) by further developing EEG models and defining new MRI volumetry features robusted by other biomarkers for discriminating dementia from healthy aging and mild cognitive impairment.

Impact

Didem believes that science itself is an art. During her fellowship, she developed knowledge in terms of incorporating research into clinical care. In UCSF's Memory and Aging Center multidisciplinary environment, she practiced a holistic approach and built great networks to promote international studies.

Motivation

With a progressively aging population in Turkey, it becomes increasingly important to refine strategies to identify and manage dementia in older people.

Education & Experience
