GBHI Facilities in the Lloyd Institute

GBHI AT TRINITY

GBHI is located in the Lloyd Institute Building on the Trinity Campus. There is controlled (key card) access to the Global Brain Health Institute, located on the ground floor of the building.

GBHI FACILITIES IN THE LLOYD INSTITUTE

The fellows’ room is located at 0.84. There are two meeting rooms available for you to use; the small meeting room 0.72 and the large meeting room 0.75. Training will be provided during orientation and on request to atlantic_fellow@gbhi.org. Please ensure you familiarize yourself with the technology in each. You will have calendar access to book the small meeting room, please check for availability prior to making a booking. If you wish to book the large meeting room, please email atlantic_fellow@gbhi.org.

NOTE: if you host a meeting in either of the meeting rooms it is your responsibility to leave it tidy and to shut down the technology.

Induction to Trinity College Dublin

Induction day provides information on services and key personnel in Trinity. As part of the induction program you will meet staff from various areas who will present to you how to access services and what you need to know in the early stages of your work life in Trinity.

Meetings at Trinity

The GBHI Team meeting occurs every second calendar month, which is attended by GBHI’s Dublin site Atlantic Fellows, Faculty and Staff; Atlantic Senior Fellows are also welcome to attend via video conference.

Once per month the GBHI Staff and Faculty meeting occurs, which is attended by GBHI’s Dublin site Faculty and Staff.

Each of these meetings is usually held on a Wednesday morning (the precise schedule is communicated at regular intervals).

Each GBHI committee and working group meets on a regular basis, with video conference enabling participation from members at both founding sites. A listing of the current composition of the committees and working groups can be found on the GBHI Intranet.

Seminars at Trinity

The Wednesday seminar slot is managed by a fellow; Atlantic Fellows, Atlantic Senior Fellows, Faculty and Staff are invited to attend the weekly GBHI seminars (2-3 pm Wednesdays); presented by Atlantic Fellows, GBHI Faculty, invited guests, or a joint seminar given by an Atlantic Fellow and a researcher from GBHI Faculty’s group. In addition, there are Salons pertaining to the values of GBHI (often in a “fireside chat” format) where invited guests and Atlantic Fellows discuss in an informal manner. Several seminar opportunities are available across different sites. Please take time to make yourself aware of each seminar and the topic to assess if it is relevant to you.

Other Seminars at Trinity

All Fellows are invited to attend a range of seminar series organized by colleagues at Trinity including:

  • NeuroSoc Seminars (usually run Mondays, 1:00-2:00pm)
  • TILDA-GBHI Seminars (Tuesdays, 1.30-2.30pm)

The GBHI Operations Team is located in room 0.60. Anne-Marie Glynn's office is in Room 0.59. Please see below:

The Operations & Finance Team in the Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience (TCIN) also work with the GBHI Team, as follows:

  • Ciaran Connelly: Operations Director, TCIN
  • Barbara Hewitt: Finance Manager, TCIN: Enquiries about finance and expenses
  • Elaine Oliveira: Senior Executive Officer, TCIN: Generation of Purchase Orders for GBHI Team (e.g. to book travel or meeting refreshments)

The TCIN Operations & Finance Team is located on the 3rd Floor of the Lloyd Institute.

Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience (TCIN)

The Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience (TCIN) is a Trinity Research Institute (TRI) with 50 Principal Investigators and 250 researchers from a wide range of disciplines including Psychology, Psychiatry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Engineering, and Genetics, among others. These diverse disciplinary origins contribute to its core activities: promoting and supporting interdisciplinary basic and translational research, as well as teaching, public engagement, and national leadership in Neuroscience.
